The Bestie: That One Person

Whether you've known them forever or your just starting a friendship, almost all girls have had that one friend at some point in her life or another. They know what your thinking before you say it, they make you laugh, they piss you off, and through it all you know no one in the world who would be at your door step with that pint of Ben and Jerry's when you need it. They belt out songs in the car with you and flip people "the bird" when they give you dirty looks. They can be serious when you need them to be , and they can go completely nuts with you and laugh at things other people just wouldn't understand i.e. cracking up hysterically when your bestie nods her head while smiling a creepily big smile! Kathryn, I went through high school without one and I never thought I could find someone who fit so perfectly into my life as a best friend. Yea, we have our tiffs and stuff but I could not ask for a better friend. A bestie lifts you up when you are down and in return you do the same. It is a two way road that involves, trust, honesty, communication, and love.

Tell me about your bestie...

Clothes: The post we've all been waiting for!

What better a friend then an item of self expression. Although we are not truly original because most of us purchase our clothes from stores, we have the freedom in America to choose what we want to wear. For me shopping is not just a hobby, it is an addiction! I find it a way to express how I am feeling. When I go on trips I often bring my entire closet. When I am asked why, I simply reply, "I don't know how I am going to feel those days". There is a process to my outfit choice each day. I wake up and instantly turn on News 12 NJ weather while I do my hair and makeup. I listen to the weather for the day and use that information in choosing my outfit. Then I think about how I feel that day. If I wake up in a good mood, I typically pick out very matchy cute outfits, and on the flip side if I wake up feeling tired I wear more comfortable outfits. If I wake up in an amazing mood, I might even put the effort into putting on a matching necklace or earrings. I think in MOST cases, girls use clothes as a form of self expression. An outfit says a lot about someone's personality and or mood. I personally love what I call grandma sweaters. You could ask any of my friends and they will tell you this definitely suits my personality because they all call me grandma because I typically fall asleep ridiculously early, and I clip coupons.
Do you use clothes as a way to express yourself?
